In the past 2 weeks there were 2 successful crossings of the English Channel by members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team. Abhejali Bernardová completed her 3rd solo crossing of the Channel on July 28-29. She finished in a time of 17 hours 38 minutes, swimming breaststroke. She is the 5th woman and 18th person to complete a breaststroke crossing and the only person in the world to have swum the Channel in both freestyle and breaststroke.

A week later, on August 7th, Jayasalini Abramovskikh crossed the Channel in a time of 18 hours 27 minutes, becoming the only person in the world to have completed both the Everest of long distance running, finishing the 3100 mile race in 2014, and the Everest of open water swimming, the English Channel. Her pilot Eddie also piloted Vijaya’s successful swim and he knows our team very well.

The two swimmers were helped by a great support crew: Dhavala, Shyamala and Nina (from Czech, for Abhejali’s swim).
